Our organisation

THE SCOTTISH LAND COMMISSION

Making Scotland’s land work better for everyone

The Scottish Land Commission works to create a fairer, more transparent and productive system of land ownership and use in Scotland.

We provide advice, evidence and recommendations to Scottish Ministers, and we work with landowners, communities and the wider public to put good practice into action.

This page introduces the people who lead our work and provides access to the keydocuments that guide and govern the organisation.

Our strategy and vision

A vision for Scotland’s land and people

Our vision is for a Scotland where land is owned and used in ways that deliver greater public benefit and help create a stronger, greener economy.

Our Strategic Plan sets out the Commission’s priorities under three core themes:

  • People – People participate in and influence decisions about how land is used.
  • Power – Power and control in land is shared more widely through diverse ownership and governance.
  • Prosperity - The value and benefits of land are used fairly to create economic prosperity and wellbeing.
