The Tenant Farming Advisory Forum (TFAF) brings together tenant, landlord, and industry representatives to discuss issues affecting Scotland’s tenanted farming sector.

Convened by the Tenant Farming Commissioner (TFC), the forum provides a space for open, constructive discussion and helps shape practical guidance that supports positive relationships across the sector.

What the forum is


The Tenant Farming Advisory Forum is a cross-industry group that supports communication and collaboration between all parts of the tenanted sector.

The forum:

  • Provides a regular opportunity for discussion between organisations representing tenants, landlords, and professional advisers
  • Advises the Tenant Farming Commissioner on emerging issues
  • Helps identify where further guidance, research or codes of practice may be useful
  • Promotes a culture of fairness, understanding and shared problem-solving

Tenant farming plays a vital role in Scotland’s rural economy and heritage. The Tenant Farming Advisory Forum helps ensure that policies, codes and guidance shaping the sector are informed by real-world experience and balanced representation from everyone involved.

Meeting several times a year, the forum provides a shared space for open discussion and practical problem-solving. It helps to:
