    Doune ponds is a small-scale nature reserve owned by Moray Estates and managed by the Doune Community Woodland Group since 2014. There is a management agreement in place, alongside a management plan. The management agreement was renewed in October 2024.

    With a population of around 52,000, Cumbernauld is the tenth most populous town in Scotland, characterised by high density urban living and some of the highest areas of multiple deprivation. However, it is also one of the greenest towns in Scotland, with over 50% of the town being greenspace.

    Croft creation in Garbhad Wood, Balnagown Estate

    Balnagown Estate is currently in the process of creating three to six new tenanted crofts in Garbhad Wood, near Edderton. Through collaboration with a local community trust, the project seeks to ensure that the crofts will contribute positively to the community.

    At Glen Dye Moor, forestry investors have brought together a delivery team that is committed to achieving good practice in community engagement alongside good stewardship of land, as well as delivering further community benefits.

    Carbeth Hutters Community Company

    The Carbeth Hutters Community Company is a membership organisation which owns 150 acres of land North of Glasgow. Hutters own their own huts but are required to lease the land from the company, and they automatically become members of the company.

    Campy Growers

    The Campy Growers is Dundee’s largest community growing space, established on a derelict site owned by Dundee City Council. Run as a partnership between the community and the Council, the community group is now taking on a formal lease on the land to further develop the site and create new opportunities for accessing finance.
